Debt / Tally paintings 2018
inspired by David Graeber´s book "Debt- the first 5000 years" these paintings came about as an attempt to test Graeber´s notion of a tally- an object which could be broken into two pieces and establish a bond between the seller / artist and buyer / audience.  I discussed the idea in a series of emails with Graeber in 2018 but had too much on my plate to take the project to a point of conclusion.

The paintings in this series are all oil / oilstick on panel and measure 160 cm x 120 cm
